User:True theory
- Hello -
So much vanity, so little time.
My work here promotes the deletion of self-promotion that doesn't adhere to Wikipedia:Notability guidelines. If you feel any of my actions are inconsistent with Wikipedia:Deletion policy make sure you've familiarized yourself with what it is.
I advocate the use of Wikipedia:Cleanup Wikipedia:Requests for expansion Wikipedia:Merging and moving pages over Deletion. However, a ton of subjects just lack the relevance for either.
I believe in Wikipedia:Deletion process because it fosters good conversation and positive change. For example, an article considered for deletion may only require a reworking. Sure, there are other procedures in place to achieve this, and deletion should be saved for a last resort, but the threat of deletion may also be the only means of forcing editors/contributors to take responsability for their work.
Tutorials such as Wikipedia:Policies and guidelinesWikipedia:Biographies of living persons Wikipedia:Verifiability Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not Wikipedia:Dispute resolution may be helpful if you are faced with having to tweak an article.
For those of you who have written an article of which you are the subject, or done so for a friend, please keep in mind that while this is not prohibited, it is strongly discouraged. Typically, you will find that these are the articles which fall in the NN group (non-notable). The theory is that Wikipedia is the second most visited reference site on the web with user involvement increasing rapidly. If there is a demand for an article about YOU, in all likelihood, one already exists or will very soon.
